So I am here with the last Top 5 Wednesday post of November (a day too late though), which means we will be going into the last month of 2017 in 2 days. Time really flies by… So in honor of NaNoWriMo this topic came to live. So we are going to talk like authors I would like to write like!
So I have only read the Monsters of Verity duology by her, but I own a bunch of more books buy her. And the thing I would like to borrow from her is her characters and plot twists. I adored her characters and her plot twists broke me without me seeing the blow coming. I really would like to be able to make people feel emotions with my writing.
The same actually goes for Rita Sepetys. The two books I have read from her, left me broken even though I knew something bad was going to happen, but it still hurt really bad. So I would like her ability in that, as well as the world building. Even though her stories are historical, the world she describes is so vivid it makes me feel like I am there with the characters.
I love Tahereh’s way of describing and I would like to be able to borrow that from her. That is what I really liked about Furthermore, her descriptions of the world and her characters and just the surroundings were amazing.
Even though I only read a novella of her, I am just someone who loves to read a good mystery, detective and thriller novel. So I would love to be able to do that and she is very popular, so she must do something well in her novels. I enjoyed her novella and I plan to read more of her books soon.
I love his writing and his characters and his worlds. He is just amazing and he keeps coming with great ideas and world, in which his old characters make an appearance or are a part of as well. I have always been a fan of mythology and through his books I actually learn stuff about it.
What author would you like to be able to write like? I haven’t read all the authors I would like to read from yet, otherwise this list would probably be must longer than 5.
